13.45 The Origins of Fortran
  A showing of the IBM film about the origins of Fortran, including informal interviews with Backus and colleagues.

A copy of the film in Windows Media Video format, 320 x 240 resolution, 12.8 MB file size, can be downloaded from the website of the Computer History Museum, Mountain View CA.

On 13 June 2001 the New York Times printed an article entitled "Pioneers of the 'Fortran' Programming Language" covering the same ground.
